The Queensland Rail Electric Tilt Train was introduced as Australia’s first high-speed tilting train, designed to deliver faster travel times on existing narrow-gauge tracks without major infrastructure upgrades.

Using active tilt technology, the train is able to lean into curves, allowing higher speeds while maintaining passenger comfort—making it ideal for long-distance intercity travel.

It became a flagship service for Queensland Rail, operating primarily on the Brisbane to Rockhampton corridor and setting a national speed record during testing.
